Happy Mardi Gras - Fat Tuesday

Happy Fat Tuesday Y'all! Altho, here in Idaho, it's just another Tuesday :P

I have to be honest with y'all. I'm born and raised down south and I haven't really ever had a king cake *gasp*

*you know how it is - IF you are surrounded by__________ you don't eat/do/ whatever. when you aren't around it anymore you WANT ____________*

I had it once, but it had blueberry crap on the inside and I did not like it. Thus, I haven't really had one.

I figure it's time to try my hand at it. Bring a lil of Mardi Gras to the high desert.

I might want to bring it to Idaho, but that doesn't mean I want to make it from scratch.

I started w/:
8oz brick of cream cheese.
1 can pizza crust
powder sugar
cinnamon
a lil vanilla
1can whipped cream cheese frosting.

I unrolled the pizza crust (room temp)
mixed the cream cheese (room temp) and powder sugar, vanilla and cinnamon (all to taste).
spread the cream cheese mix onto the crust
rolled it up (long)
shaped it into a 'ring'
baked off per directions.

let cool.

3 bowls + green, yellow and red/blue (purple) food color
mixed the colors to get Mardi Gras

***since I only have the blueberry crap to compare it to-
It wasn't bad.
The cream cheese melted into the 'bread'.
I like it.
The boys liked it.

*IF I make it again, I will make homemade glaze (powder sugar, milk & vanilla)*

I Never Wanted To Label Myself, but

I've been having problems with this painting.
Draw what I see.
I've drawn and erased it a few times now.

This one...
it was hard.
So, I drew the negative.
(empty spaces)

it's been brought to my attention that I am an abstract artist, I've never thought of myself that way (I don't want to label myself), but when I think about it...Yeah, I do a lot of abstract.
I said something to hubs about this and he said 'that's how you think'.
Why didn't he tell me that? lol
I'm OUT, I'm abstract :)

I like Heat

Frank's isn't hot enough,
I've been adding the Vietnamese chili sauce to it.

'Not Manly Enough'

Sitting at the coffee table filling out Valentines for the parties tomorrow.
Sprout got Toy Story.
Hoss got Spider-man and he told me
'Spider-man, isn't manly enough'.
He's in 3rd grade folks!

He then told me that
'the guys from Cowboys vs Aliens
or
the guys from Fast 5
or
Harry Potter'
would have worked better.

LOL

UPDATE on island

I bought the sewing table (w/ machine) for $25.
Took out the machine (it worked).

Updated the sewing table to a kitchen island.
Less than $10 in pennies,
and the cost of the handles.

The Update:
I sold the machine for $25.
So, I have maybe $15 in the island.
Yay!

Sticking to the Deal

Had to take the spark plugs out and see if the motor would turn,
it wouldn't.
(with hubs help - hands me the tools and tells me what to do)

Still need to find and S10 frame.
A motor.

Face plate/panel for the front of the bed.
The metal bars in the bed and replace all the wood.

Straighten out some bent metal.

I don't mind the snow...

...when it comes down in perfect flakes.

I noticed 2 years ago (when I was in Alaska) that the flakes were PERFECT.

I've seen them a few times here,
but today I actually tried to take the pictures.
It was a lil difficult, because they would hit and then melt on the windshield.

The pics would turn out better (more detail) IF I had a micro lens.
