11 months out

I am down 55LBS!

I haven't been this 'small' in about 8 years!!!

I was told I should be eating 1000-1200 cals per day...gunna have to check that out and see exactly what I am taking in. My nurse said that she is content with me eating 6oz per meal if I am...I AM, makes me feel like a 'normal' person.

I ate pineapple chunks last night and it took forever to go down...not good (pineapple along with several other foods we are told to stay away from).

I am so thankful for the Band...God only knows what I would look like today had I not taking the first steps last Spring and go talk to my Doctor.

9.5 months out -

On Tuesday, I had my 9.5 month checkup with my lapband Doctor. My last appointment was 8 weeks ago, I figured I could lose - at most 16 LBS & as little as 7LBS. After 8 weeks I went in and was weighed...I lost a total of 1 (ONE) LB in 8 weeks!!! *not happy*

However, I have lost a total of 50LBS!

I feel better and I am doing more - which had I not, I would probably still be sitting on my fat butt. Had I not had the band who knows what I would weigh today???

I am grateful for the band. I just thought that I would be down 70-75LBS by now.

I have been using a scale to measure out 6oz of food each meal. My doctor was glad that I have been measuring my food, but he said a scale is not accurate...he wants me to measure it out with a measuring cup and ONLY have 1/2c per meal.

I go back in early June...

6 months out

I had a Dr's appointment last Tuesday, it had been 6 weeks since my last appointment.

My nurse greeted me and asks how I was doing...my response 'how much do you want to know?' She says 'how much do you want to tell me.' So, I told her.

The first thing they do when you get there is weigh you...in 6 weeks I am down another - Wait for it...anther 1 (ONE) LB! So not cool, but at least I didn't gain.

Thankfully, my nurse told my Dr...Its a good thing because he didn't chew me out for only losing 1 LB.

On a side note - this is my last month at the gym. I tried to cancel for this month, but it was a no go...we don't have the money for me to be able to go to the gym anymore :( Having to cancel health insurance too - got a statement the other day that said our insurance was going up (it goes up every year - which I think is pretty stupid), for me and the boys it was $364 per month and it was going up to well over $400. The boys will soon be on medicare or whatever it is the state pays for.
