The little shelf that was.

We have a rather small kitchen 9'x 9'.

Our fridge was pushed right up to the stove, but there was a slight space if we pushed the fridge to the wall.

One day I was cooking and I noticed that the side of the fridge was way to Hot. I told my husband that we needed a small shelf like creation to go between the fridge and stove.

Hunting begins...

I, again, went from yard sale to yard sale, but could not find anything to the dimensions that was needed.

At this same time my husband and a friend were replacing our back door and had extra 4x8 wood.

It took me a wkend to get it built (having to work around taking care of the kids).

I topped it off with green milk glass pieces that I already had, I love stained glass.

The very top usually has a loaf of bread on it. The 2nd shelf holds cutting boards and the 3rd did hold my cook books, but I recently switched those out with extra pans/cooling racks.

This was a great idea....any chance you'd post pictures of it next to the fridge?

What a good use of space! I have a pretty big gap, I really need to make a custom shelf for there, like you did.

Great work!

What a great shelf. Sometimes when you have such a small space you can really come up with creative ideas for storage.
